After spending 2 weeks in Egypt, I put together a list of helpful tips for you. They are pretty simple and some might even be considered common sense, but somehow they get overlooked.
1. Be prepared to tip everyone. Everywhere. For everything. Servers, drivers, tour guides, people who take your photo, security guards, anyone who answers a question, tells you about a hieroglyphic, let’s you take a photo of them, bathroom attendants, etc.
2. Please cover your shoulders and knees (men and women.) It’s respectful.
3. When locals try to sell you something at the monuments, sites, and streets, telling them No in Arabic will get you a lot further than in English. It’s easy enough, just say “Laa”.
4. Bring your own toilet paper. Not all bathrooms have it, not even in restaurants!
5. Egyptians are the nicest people. You can expect genuine kindness!

Did I forget anything? Let me know in the comments below!

2 weeks agoHave you ever thought about adding a little bit more than just your articles? I mean, what you say is fundamental and everything. However imagine if you added some great images or videos to give your posts more, “pop”! Your content is excellent but with pics and clips, this site could certainly be one of the very best in its niche. Good blog!
