Egypt – Day 6: Snorkeling in the Red Sea

Scuba Diving

After a relaxing afternoon and evening at the resort, the next day we went snorkeling!  I love snorkeling so I was pretty excited for this.  Our driver picked us up from the hotel, drove us to the marina, and left us in the capable hands of New Son Bijou Diving Center!  They were fantastic!  They took us to a couple great spots to see the sea life and enjoy the ocean.

We visited a coral reef, where I unfortunately do not have photos because I did not have an underwater camera with me. The water was so clear and there were so many fish.  It felt like you could reach out and touch them, but of course they were much farther away than they looked.

Scuba Diving

The snorkeling excursion was included with our tour, but my husband upgraded to go scuba diving as well, while I took a nap on the boat!

It only cost about $20 USD if I remember correctly. Maybe a little more, but it was very affordable. He loves scuba diving so he felt it was worth it.

While he enjoyed scuba diving, I definitely took a nap on the boat. The sun was so warm and I’ve never been more relaxed. It really was the perfect afternoon.

I highly recommend New Son Bijou Diving Center if you are looking for something different to do in Hurghada.  I mean, who knew you could go snorkeling in Egypt?

After we returned to our hotel, we enjoyed a relaxing night. Which was great because the next day we had a big adventure to look forward to.

Don’t miss my review of The Continental Hotel in Hurghada.
