Today I wanted to talk about our itinerary for our Canada trip. We leave in about 6 weeks so I will be finalizing it all soon. I have a ton of stuff on my to do list for it. Actually, I have to WRITE my to do list for it first. I’ll share that with you all when I write it. It’ll be gold. But for now, I’ll show you where our itinerary stands as of now. I used Travefy to help plan our trip!
Driving to Niagara Falls with lunch in Syracuse. We also plan to stop at Old Falls Street before dinner to let Taylor out to stretch her legs a bit before grabbing dinner at the Rain Forest Cafe. Not particularly Canadian but we don’t have one near us and Taylor will love it after being in the car all day. After dinner, we will head to Niagara State Park’s Visitor Center to visit and purchase our Discovery Pass. Then we will check into our hotel and catch a glimpse of the Illuminations on the Falls.
Today we visit Niagara State Park. Pretty much all day. Using our Discovery Pass, we’ll ride the Maid of the Mist, walk through the Cave of the Winds, visit the Aquarium and Niagara Gorge Discovery Center. Debating between Top of the Falls or Queen Victoria Place for dinner. Can anyone give me some thoughts between those two restaurants?
There’s a place near our hotel called Bird Kingdom and it’s pretty much exactly what it sounds like – an aviary. I thought that would be fun for Taylor to visit. I really want to have lunch at the Skylon Tower – preferably in the rotating restaurant. After lunch, it’s time to relax at the hotel. Either a nap or a visit to the pool. When we are refreshed, we will walk around Clifton Hill and find somewhere for dinner before FIREWORKS! Taylor is going to love watching the fireworks over the falls. Actually, I’m pretty sure we will all like that.
Time to head to Toronto! We will head there in the morning before hitting the CN Tower before lunch. We will be purchasing the City Pass and using it starting with the CN Tower. I’m pretty excited to visit Kensington Market and I think we will try to do lunch there and then just walk around. The Distillery District is next and we’ll find somewhere for dinner there.
In the morning, Kenny will head over to the Hockey Hall of Fame. Taylor and I have no desire to visit that so when he’s done we will meet him at the Ferry and head over to Toronto Islands for the day.
The nerd in me comes out this day as we will visit Casa Loma and the Royal Ontario Museum for the better part of the day. Not sure where to go for dinner this night. Any suggestions?
We are going to go to the Toronto Zoo on our last day. Then make it an early night to pack and rest up before our drive back home.
We’re headed home on Day 8 and will probably have lunch in Syracuse again.
For those of you who have been to Niagara Falls or Toronto, am I missing anything major? Restaurant suggestions?
